Your nine-step delivery day guide

Follow the steps in order, or jump straight to what you need.

Make sure the date, address and delivery arrangements are correct before the day arrives.

Keep your order confirmation handy and check the latest communication about the planned delivery date or time window. Make sure the contact telephone number and address are accurate, especially if your property is difficult to locate.

If there are access restrictions, parking rules, stairs or other details that might affect unloading, contact customer care ahead of time to ask how these should be handled.

Helpful tip: Keep your order reference and a charged phone nearby on delivery day.

Checking the bedroom alone is not enough: the bed must be able to reach it.

Measure doors, hallways, staircases, turns and landings. Compare the narrowest spaces with the dimensions of the largest bed components and any packaging dimensions available to you.

Think about high ceilings, sharp corners, banisters and the space required to turn a headboard or mattress. Do not assume a large component can be forced around a tight corner.

Give your new bed a clean, clear space to arrive in.

Remove the old bed and move bedside tables, lamps and other items away from the area where the new bed will stand. If you need to dispose of an existing bed, arrange that separately unless removal is expressly included in your order.

Vacuum or wipe down the floor, check your intended bed position and leave sufficient room for safe handling of the parts.

Helpful tip: Have any bedding, mattress protector and accessories ready, but leave them off until setup checks are complete.

A clear route is safer for people, furniture and your home.

Move shoes, rugs, small furniture and fragile objects from the entrance through to the bedroom. Open internal doors where possible and make sure corridors and stairways are well lit.

If your home has vulnerable walls or corners, prepare suitable protective coverings without leaving anything loose underfoot. Make sure the entrance and any agreed parking or unloading area are accessible.

Helpful tip: Check the route from the vehicle access point to the room—not only from the front door.

Delivery day can involve heavy items, open doors and busy walkways.

Arrange for children to be supervised away from the lifting route and keep pets in a separate, secure room. Avoid letting anyone stand in doorways, on stairs or near furniture being manoeuvred.

This helps reduce distractions and makes it easier for everyone involved to communicate clearly.

Take a moment to look over what has been delivered.

Check that the items and packages appear to match your order. Look for visible tears, dents, damaged upholstery or missing packages, and make a note of any concerns.

If something seems wrong, photograph it and notify the delivery team or Aven Beds customer care promptly. Follow the reporting instructions that apply to your order and retain the packaging until you have confirmed what to do next.

Make sure the bed is ready for use before adding your bedding.

If assembly is included with your order, check the finished bed with the team before they leave. If you are assembling it yourself, follow the supplied instructions for your specific model and use the correct fittings.

Check that the frame is level, slats and supports are correctly fitted, and components feel secure. For ottoman storage beds, refer to the manufacturer’s guidance before operating the lifting mechanism; never force gas-lift fittings.

Helpful tip: Do not sleep on the bed until you are satisfied it has been assembled correctly and is stable.

Simple maintenance helps your bed stay beautiful over time.

Follow the care information supplied with your frame, upholstery and mattress. Different fabrics and mattress constructions need different cleaning, rotating or handling methods.

Use a suitable mattress protector where recommended, keep care instructions for reference, and avoid cleaning products or lifting techniques not approved for your bed.
